Prior to using any Bookcicle, LLC (hereinafter referred to as “we”, “us”, “our” or “Bookcicle”) application, services, or website and prior to signing in to our website, please read the following Terms of Service Agreement (these “Terms” or this “Agreement”). These Terms govern your (“you” or “your”) access to and use of the website bookcicle.com and the services owned, operated and provided by Bookcicle (collectively, the “Site”). Your access to and use of the Site are expressly conditioned on your acceptance of and compliance with these Terms.
BY ACCESSING AND USING THE SITE IN ANY MANNER, YOU ARE ACCEPTING AND AGREEING TO BE BOUND BY THESE TERMS TO THE EXCLUSION OF ALL OTHER TERMS. IF YOU DO NOT UNCONDITIONALLY ACCEPT THESE TERMS IN THEIR ENTIRETY, YOU SHALL NOT (AND SHALL HAVE NO RIGHT TO) ACCESS OR USE THE SITE. IF THE TERMS OF THIS AGREEMENT ARE CONSIDERED AN OFFER, ACCEPTANCE IS EXPRESSLY LIMITED TO SUCH TERMS. ANY VIOLATION OF THESE TERMS MAY RESULT IN TERMINATION OF YOUR ABILITY TO ACCESS AND USE THE SITE AND YOUR RIGHTS IN CONNECTION WITH THE SITE. THESE TERMS SHOULD BE READ IN CONJUNCTION WITH BOOKCICLE’S PRIVACY POLICY.
Bookcicle reserves the right to change all or any part of these Terms, the Site and the fees or charges for use of the Site at any time. Any such change(s) will be effective immediately upon notice, which may be provided by any means, including, without limitation, e-mail correspondence or a post on the Site. Your continued use of the Site after such notice is provided shall constitute your acceptance of such changes.
At the time that you sign in to the Site, you agree to the following:
You acknowledge that if any information provided by you is untrue, inaccurate, not current or incomplete and as a result you do not receive communications we have attempted to send to you, then you cannot claim a lack of notice regarding such communications. You further acknowledge that such communications could materially affect your rights under these Terms, and that Bookcicle reserves the right to terminate your access to and use of the Site at any time.
We may refuse to grant you a username for any reason in our sole discretion. You will be responsible for the confidentiality and use of your username and password and agree not to disclose your username and password or transfer or sell your use of or access to the Site to any third party. YOU ARE ENTIRELY RESPONSIBLE FOR MAINTAINING THE CONFIDENTIALITY OF YOUR USERNAME AND PASSWORD AND FOR ANY AND ALL ACTIVITIES (INCLUDING PURCHASES, AS APPLICABLE) THAT ARE CONDUCTED THROUGH YOUR ACCOUNT.
Bookcicle may offer cryptographic provenance, attestation, proof, timestamping, signing, verification, and anchoring features (collectively, the “Provenance Services”), including local proofs, cloud attest, cloud proofs, and public anchors. These features are technical mechanisms intended to create evidence regarding the possession or control of a cryptographic key, account, device, artifact, or data object at a given point in time, including through signatures, hashes, timestamps, receipts, logs, or related metadata.
For purposes of these Terms, “Account Identity” means the Bookcicle account, login credentials, account-controlled keys, account-linked identifiers, and related service metadata associated with a proof, attestation, or anchor in Bookcicle’s systems. A reference to an Account Identity means only that a cryptographic event or record was associated with a particular Bookcicle account or account-controlled credential at the time reflected by the applicable records.
NON-NOTARIAL SERVICE. UNLESS BOOKCICLE EXPRESSLY STATES IN WRITING THAT A SPECIFIC TRANSACTION IS BEING PERFORMED AS A STATUTORY NOTARIAL ACT BY A DULY COMMISSIONED NOTARY PUBLIC UNDER APPLICABLE LAW, THE PROVENANCE SERVICES ARE NOT A NOTARIZATION, REMOTE ONLINE NOTARIZATION, ELECTRONIC NOTARIZATION, ACKNOWLEDGMENT, JURAT, OATH, APOSTILLE, CERTIFICATION, OR OTHER OFFICIAL GOVERNMENTAL OR NOTARIAL ACT.
References by you or other users to the Provenance Services as “notary,” “notarization,” “proof notary,” or similar terms are descriptive or colloquial only and do not change the non-notarial nature of the service unless Bookcicle expressly states otherwise in writing.
You acknowledge and agree that association with an Account Identity does not, by itself, establish or guarantee the legal identity of any natural person, the authenticity of any government-issued identification, the authority or capacity of any signer, the voluntariness of any act, or the legal validity, enforceability, admissibility, recordability, or acceptance of any document, signature, transaction, or underlying claim. The Provenance Services are designed to provide technical evidence of cryptographic events and claimed provenance only.
As currently offered, the Provenance Services do not include independent identity verification of a user’s real-world identity unless Bookcicle expressly labels and provides a separate identity-verification feature on the Site. Accordingly, Bookcicle does not currently represent that a proof or attestation reflects that the relevant user has been government-ID verified, biometrically verified, or otherwise independently verified by Bookcicle.
Bookcicle may, in the future, offer optional identity-verification features through one or more third-party providers designated by Bookcicle (“Identity Verification Services”). If and when offered, such services will be described separately on the Site and may be subject to supplemental terms, provider terms, additional privacy disclosures, separate fees, eligibility requirements, and technical limitations. Unless and until such Identity Verification Services are expressly enabled by Bookcicle for your use, no proof, attestation, or anchor should be understood as including identity verification beyond Account Identity association.
Bookcicle does not independently verify the truth, ownership, authorship, legality, non-infringement, or completeness of user-supplied content, metadata, claims, or records, nor does Bookcicle guarantee chain of title, originality, priority, or non-repudiation. You are solely responsible for determining whether your use case requires an actual notarial act, witness, legal review, regulated identity-proofing process, or other professional or governmental service.
You are solely responsible for maintaining the security and control of your accounts, keys, wallets, devices, credentials, recovery materials, and signing environment. Loss, compromise, revocation, expiration, rotation, corruption, or unauthorized use of any account or credential may impair the creation, recovery, verification, or evidentiary usefulness of any proof, attestation, or anchor.
Local proofs are available without additional charge to Bookcicle account holders and may be described as “unlimited,” in each case subject to reasonable use limits, anti-abuse controls, technical constraints, and rate limits. cloud attest, cloud proofs, and public anchors are paid or subscription features and may be subject to plan restrictions, quotas, metering, or overage charges as described on the Site.
Public anchors may involve submission of hashes, signatures, timestamps, identifiers, or related metadata to public or third-party networks, ledgers, registries, or similar infrastructure not controlled by Bookcicle. Such actions may be irreversible, may not be capable of deletion or modification, and may permit later correlation or inference concerning the underlying record. You are solely responsible for deciding whether any content, hash, identifier, or metadata is appropriate for anchoring and for complying with all applicable laws.
Bookcicle does not guarantee that any proof, attestation, verification result, or public anchor will be accepted by any court, recorder, regulator, counterparty, auditor, insurer, or other third party, or that it will satisfy any legal, evidentiary, compliance, or business requirement applicable to you.
Subject to and conditioned upon your compliance with these Terms, and solely for so long as you are permitted by Bookcicle to access the Site, we grant to you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sub-licensable, limited right and license to access the Site, including any text, images, graphics, videos, visuals, sounds, data, files, links and other materials incorporated into the Site (other than your Content (as herein defined)), solely as made available by us, solely as necessary to access the Site and solely for your own purposes, provided that you keep intact all copyright and other proprietary notices. The Site, including all such materials and all intellectual property rights therein, remains the property of Bookcicle or its licensors or suppliers. Except as expressly authorized by these Terms, you may not use, reproduce, distribute, modify, transmit, perform, display or create derivative works of any portion of the Site without the prior written consent of Bookcicle. Nothing herein grants any rights to commercially exploit any portion of the Site or any content therein. All rights not expressly granted hereunder are expressly reserved.
You acknowledge that technical, maintenance and other issues may make the site unavailable from time to time. BOOKCICLE DOES NOT WARRANT OR GUARANTEE THAT THE SITE WILL OPERATE IN A TIMELY, UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE MANNER, OR THAT THE SITE WILL MEET YOUR PURPOSES. Bookcicle reserves the right to modify the Site, including its availability, features, or request-throughput at any time without notice. To preserve service stability, Bookcicle may monitor usage and rate-limit, throttle, or temporarily suspend traffic that, in our sole judgment, threatens system integrity or violates plan quotas.
You acknowledge and agree that your use of the Site shall comply with all applicable laws, rules and regulations. Further, you agree that, in using the Site, you shall not:
FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH THE ABOVE RULES MAY RESULT IN A SUSPENSION OR TERMINATION OF YOUR ACCESS TO AND USE OF THE SITE. ANY SUCH DETERMINATION SHALL BE MADE AT BOOKCICLE’S SOLE DISCRETION.
If you post or upload to the Site in compliance with the Use of the Site section set forth above, or otherwise submit to or through Bookcicle as part of your use of the Site, any materials including, without limitation, text, photographs and other images, graphics, videos, visuals, sounds, data, files, links and other materials (collectively, “Content”), then you will retain ownership of such Content. You hereby grant us and our designees a worldwide, non-exclusive, sub-licensable (through multiple tiers), assignable, royalty-free (except as otherwise agreed during the online publishing or ordering process) right to use, reproduce, distribute (through multiple tiers) and publicly display such Content, solely in connection with operating and improving the Site and services. You acknowledge and agree that any template or layout in which you arrange or organize such Content through tools and features made available through Bookcicle are not proprietary to you, that Bookcicle may use such tools and features for any purpose, and that you have no rights in any such template and/or layout, and such template or layout shall be the sole and exclusive property of Bookcicle.
You represent, warrant and covenant that:

Please note that Bookcicle is not responsible for, and shall not assume any liability for, the removal or non-removal of Content from the Site and is not obligated to act in response to a report or request from any user. Further, we recommend that you store copies of your Content separate from the Site, as the Site is not intended to function as a back-up system for your Content.
Bookcicle’s ghostwriting, editorial, translation, and conversion services may incorporate generative artificial intelligence technologies (“AI Systems”) operated by Bookcicle or third-party vendors. These systems assist in producing text based on your prompts, data, and instructions.
By submitting prompts, manuscripts, reference materials, or other inputs for AI-assisted services, you instruct and authorize Bookcicle to transmit, process, store, transform, analyze, and display such materials using Bookcicle systems and third-party service providers reasonably necessary to provide, secure, maintain, moderate, and support the services, subject to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
NO GUARANTEE OF ORIGINALITY OR ACCURACY. AI-generated output is provided “AS IS.” It may contain material that resembles existing works, factual errors, or biased/defamatory statements. Bookcicle does not warrant that any AI-generated content will be free from plagiarism, copyright infringement, or other violations of third-party rights.
No Exclusivity; Similar Output. AI Systems may generate the same or similar output for Bookcicle, other users, or third parties. Similarity of output does not, by itself, mean that any person wrongfully copied from you or that any output is exclusive, confidential, or protectable.
Your Responsibilities. You are solely responsible for reviewing, editing, and verifying the originality, accuracy, and legality of any AI-assisted or AI-generated content prior to publication, distribution, or commercial use, and for obtaining any permissions or attributions required by law. You represent and warrant that you have all necessary rights to the inputs, prompts, reference materials, or other data you submit to Bookcicle.
Service Expectations. Unless expressly stated otherwise in an order form or service agreement, Bookcicle’s AI-assisted services are intended to help move you substantially toward a workable manuscript or other deliverable, but they do not promise a completed, publication-ready, or error-free final work. Any references on the Site to getting you most of the way to a final draft or deliverable describe the general intended workflow only and are not guarantees of outcome, quality, completeness, or fitness for a particular purpose. Results vary based on your inputs, source materials, instructions, and review process.
Ownership. Unless otherwise agreed in writing, Bookcicle assigns to you any transferable rights, if any, it may have in AI-generated content or other Deliverables created for you, subject to: (i) your compliance with these Terms; (ii) applicable law; and (iii) the intellectual-property and usage terms of underlying AI vendors. You acknowledge that AI-generated material may not qualify for copyright or other intellectual-property protection in all jurisdictions and that copyright eligibility, scope, ownership, registration, and term may vary by jurisdiction, including the United States, and in jurisdictions that require sufficient human authorship for some or all protection or registration. You further acknowledge that additional human authorship, editing, or selection may be required for certain protections or registrations. Bookcicle retains ownership of all prompts, templates, workflows, and tools used to operate the services.
No Copyright or Registration Guarantee. Bookcicle does not represent or warrant that any Deliverable, in whole or in part, is copyrightable, registrable, enforceable, exclusively owned by you, or eligible for any particular scope, duration, presumption, or remedy under any jurisdiction’s laws. Any decision to register, publish, license, enforce, disclaim, or describe authorship in connection with a Deliverable is solely your responsibility.
Human Contribution, Disclosure, and Recordkeeping. If you intend to claim authorship, ownership, or registration in a Deliverable, you are solely responsible for determining what human creative contribution, selection, coordination, arrangement, editing, rewriting, curation, or other modification is required under applicable law; for making any legally required or service-required disclosure regarding AI assistance, authorship, or unclaimable AI-generated material; and for maintaining records sufficient to substantiate your claimed human contribution, including drafts, prompts, source materials, revisions, and editorial changes. Bookcicle has no duty to advise you on those requirements or to preserve records on your behalf for evidentiary or registration purposes except as expressly required by law or stated in writing.
No Legal Authorship Advice. Bookcicle does not determine the legal author, co-author, claimant, or rights holder of any Deliverable for purposes of copyright, moral rights, registration, publishing disclosures, chain of title, or infringement claims, and nothing in the services should be construed as legal advice on those issues.
Third-Party Vendors. AI-generated material may originate, in whole or in part, from third-party AI Systems. To the extent any liability arises from the operation or output of such systems, such liability rests with those vendors under their respective terms. Bookcicle’s liability for third-party AI output is limited to the fullest extent permitted by law.
Turnaround Estimates. Any quoted completion window, turnaround time, service speed, or processing estimate on the Site, in checkout, or in communications is an estimate only and not a guaranteed delivery commitment, service level, or time-is-of-the-essence obligation.
Advanced Quality Checks Add-On (Advisory Only). If you purchase our Advanced Quality Checks add-on, Bookcicle may use AI to flag passages that may raise originality concerns. This is a heuristic advisory (not a definitive plagiarism determination) and may include suggested edits or citations. You remain responsible for final review and compliance decisions.
Indemnification & Limits. Without limiting other provisions of these Terms (see Indemnification, Disclaimer of Warranties, and Limitation of Liability), you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Bookcicle from claims arising out of your inputs or your use, publication, or distribution of AI-generated content.
Refusal or Suspension. Bookcicle may refuse, delay, suspend, or terminate processing of any AI-service request if we reasonably believe the inputs, instructions, requested outputs, or surrounding circumstances create legal, policy, vendor-compliance, safety, abuse, operational, or reputational risk.
Bookcicle currently offers four core AI-wrapped service categories: Editorial, Translation, Conversion, and Ghostwriting. Each order may produce one or more “Deliverables” (e.g., edited manuscripts, translated texts, converted formats/exports, or ghostwritten sections).
Unless otherwise set out in an order form or service agreement, you receive the rights in the Deliverables described in Ownership above. You may not access, copy, or redistribute Bookcicle’s underlying tools, templates, prompts, models, or workflows apart from the Deliverables themselves.
Deliverables may be provided in digital formats only. Any sample excerpts used by Bookcicle for marketing or demonstration purposes will exclude your confidential information unless you give prior written consent.
In order to purchase any services through the Site, you must accept these Terms. We offer the following core service categories: Editorial, Translation, Conversion, and Ghostwriting. Current pricing and plan details are published on the Site. We reserve the right to modify service tiers and fees at any time without notice.
At the time of any purchase, we shall ask you to supply certain information applicable to the purchase, including, without limitation, payment information. All information that you provide to us (or any third-party payment processor we utilize) must be accurate; all such information shall be treated in the manner described in our Privacy Policy. YOU REPRESENT AND WARRANT THAT YOU HAVE THE LEGAL RIGHT TO USE ANY CREDIT CARD(S) OR OTHER PAYMENT MEANS USED TO INITIATE ANY TRANSACTION. You agree to pay all charges incurred by you or any users of your account and credit card (or other applicable payment mechanism) at the prices in effect when such charges are incurred. You will also be responsible for paying any applicable taxes relating to your purchases. Verification of information applicable to a purchase may be required prior to our acceptance of any order.
Descriptions, images, references, features, content, specifications, products, price and availability of any products or services (including our AI-assisted offerings) are subject to change without notice. Current fees may include on-demand services and subscription plans with metered usage. For subscription plans with metered AI usage, Bookcicle currently does not charge for metered usage where the aggregate metered usage fees for a given billing period are one U.S. dollar (US $1.00) or less. If your aggregate metered usage fees exceed one U.S. dollar (US $1.00) during a billing period, Bookcicle may invoice you for the full amount of such usage incurred in that billing period. Some plans may also include self-service AI spending cap controls. If your configured cap is reached for a billing period, new AI requests may be limited or denied until the next period begins, unless otherwise permitted by your plan or by Bookcicle. Our current prices and plan details can be found on the Site.
Any metered AI “rate card,” typical-cost range, calculator, usage example, or similar pricing estimate published on the Site is provided for general planning purposes only and is not a quote, guaranteed price, fixed fee, or cap on charges. Rate-card ranges are based on typical workflows, model lanes, manuscript sizes, routing assumptions, and provider prices available at the time they are published, and may use representative scenarios such as average modeled 100,000-word workflows through high-end modeled 300,000-word workflows. Your actual metered usage may be higher or lower than the displayed range depending on manuscript length, input and output token volume, selected options, model/provider routing, retries, validations, cache behavior, add-ons, safety or quality checks, provider price changes, taxes, and other operational factors. Bookcicle may update rate-card estimates, model routing, supported models, markups, and metered pricing methodology at any time without notice. You remain responsible for all metered usage actually incurred under your account, subject to any applicable plan terms or spending controls.
The inclusion of any products or services on the Site at a particular time does not imply or warrant that these products or services will be available at any time. It is your responsibility to ascertain and obey all applicable local, state, federal and international laws (including minimum age requirements) in regard to the possession, use and sale of any item purchased through the Site. By placing an order, you represent that the products ordered will be used only in a lawful manner. We reserve the right, with or without prior notice, to: limit the available quantity of or discontinue any product or service; honor, or impose conditions on the honoring of any coupon, coupon code, promotional code or other similar promotions; bar any user from making any or all purchase(s); and refuse to provide any user with any product or service.
Certain Provenance Services and any future Identity Verification Services may be offered on a paid, subscription, per-use, or metered basis, as described on the Site from time to time.
Title and risk of loss for any physical shipments (if applicable) pass to you upon our delivery to our carrier. We reserve the right to ship partial orders (at no additional cost to you), and the portion of any order that is partially shipped may be charged at the time of shipment.
The Digital Millennium Copyright Act of 1998 (the “DMCA”) provides recourse for copyright owners who believe that material appearing on the Internet infringes their rights under U.S. copyright law. If you believe in good faith that any material used or displayed on or through the Site infringes your copyright, then you may send us a notice requesting that the material be removed or access to it blocked. The notice must include the following information:
In the event that you believe, in good faith, that a notice of copyright infringement has been wrongly filed against you, the DMCA permits you to send us a counter-notice. Notices and counter-notices must meet the then-current statutory requirements imposed by the DMCA; see http://www.copyright.gov/ for details. Further, in the event of a DMCA Takedown, the user who violated the DMCA shall be solely liable to Bookcicle and other users for applicable refunds.
For AI-assisted services (Editorial, Translation, Conversion, Ghostwriting), all sales are final once work has begun. Because these are custom digital services initiated upon order, refunds are generally not available. If you believe there has been an error (e.g., duplicate charge or a clear failure to deliver any output), please contact support@bookcicle.com.
Where applicable and at Bookcicle’s sole discretion, we may offer a targeted revision, repair attempt, or partial credit in lieu of a refund. Any such courtesy remedy is optional, may be conditioned on your cooperation and prompt notice of the issue, and does not constitute an admission of fault or an ongoing obligation to provide additional revisions. This policy does not limit any non-waivable rights you may have under applicable consumer protection laws.
Product support is available to active subscribers, eligible paid organizations, and qualifying paid customers. If you purchase an AI Service or Notary service on an ad-hoc basis, support is limited to that purchased service and its related transaction path.
Billing, payment, login, and entitlement issues may still be handled separately. Free or unpaid usage may be directed to self-serve documentation and other support resources.
For active subscribers, paid organizations, supported lifetime accounts, allowlisted users, and approved internal testers.
For one-time Workflow Services and Notary purchases that can be matched to the sender, order, task, proof, capsule, or transaction.
For payment failures, receipts, invoices, login recovery, refund intake, and entitlement mismatches.
Free users, unmatched senders, and general inbound product questions from non-customers may receive docs-only guidance.
We may ask for the email, request ID, task ID, proof ID, capsule ID, invoice ID, payment ID, or download identifier tied to the issue before we investigate.
Ad-hoc purchase support is generally bounded to a defined support window, typically thirty (30) days from purchase or completion, unless a different service-specific window applies.
Security, privacy, fraud, legal notices, payment failures, and likely entitlement mistakes may be routed even when ordinary product support would otherwise be limited.

We normalize the sender and attempt to match the user, account, or organization.

We review subscription status, paid purchase records, support overrides, and billing or access eligibility.
Step 3
We determine whether the request concerns product support, a purchased AI path, a Notary path, billing, access, or feedback.
Step 4
We may answer, ask a clarifying question, investigate, escalate, or limit the reply to self-serve guidance.
Bookcicle may limit or refuse full product support when no active subscription or qualifying paid purchase exists, when the issue falls outside the supported purchase path, when a reasonable identity or transaction match cannot be made, when the support window has expired, or when abuse, safety, or confidentiality rules apply.
We may use internal documentation, structured workflow status, read-only logs, and prior case history to investigate, but customer replies will be rewritten into customer-safe summaries and will not disclose source code, secrets, raw internal logs, or unrelated user data.

You may choose at any time to remove your uploaded Content from the Site (e.g., source documents you provided for services). Should you do so, that Content will no longer be visible to other users of the Site (if it ever was) and will be deleted from Bookcicle’s active systems after a defined period of time, as set forth in the then current policies of Bookcicle, subject to legal retention requirements and backups.

When you receive a Deliverable from Bookcicle, you are granted the rights set out in your order or service agreement and these Terms. Subject to those rights, you shall not: (1) remove or obscure any proprietary notices of Bookcicle; (2) claim Bookcicle authored the Deliverable unless agreed in writing; (3) republish, resell, or re-license Bookcicle’s underlying tools, templates, prompts, or models as a standalone product; or (4) violate any third-party rights contained in your inputs or required by your prompt instructions.
For the avoidance of doubt, nothing in this section limits your rights in your own inputs or in the Deliverables as assigned or licensed to you under these Terms or a separate written agreement.
In general, Bookcicle collects information when you sign in to the Site, use the Site or otherwise visit pages on the Site. For a complete description of how Bookcicle collects and uses its users’ information, please see Bookcicle’s Privacy Policy.
You agree to indemnify, defend and hold harmless Bookcicle and its distributors, partners and licensors, and our their directors, officers, employees, consultants, agents and other representatives, from and against any and all claims, damages, losses, costs (including reasonable attorneys' fees) and other expenses that arise directly or indirectly out of or from:
You agree not to do anything to intentionally prejudice the rights granted hereunder, but in the event that you lose any rights, licenses, consents or permissions relating to specific Content necessary for you to grant the rights you grant to us hereunder, or you receive notice of a third-party claim relating to Content which you reasonably deem to be of concern, you shall immediately retire or delete such Content from our Site.
Notwithstanding anything contained herein to the contrary, you shall use commercially reasonable efforts to maintain the rights to the Content that you provide to us pursuant to these Terms.

References to business or distribution channel partners in connection with Bookcicle’s operations refers to organizations with which Bookcicle has business relationships and does not imply formal legal partnerships.
Every provision of these Terms is intended to be severable. If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction and venue, then such provision shall be deemed amended and interpreted, if possible, in a way that renders it enforceable. If such an interpretation is not possible, then the provision shall be deemed removed from these Terms and the rest of these Terms shall remain in full force and effect.
No waiver by either party of any breach or default hereunder shall be deemed to be a waiver of any preceding or subsequent breach or default, nor shall any delay or omission on the part of either party to exercise or avail itself of any right or remedy that it has or may have hereunder operate as a waiver of any right or remedy.
