- Do I need an internet connection?
- No! The Desktop App works fully offline for drafting and editing. AI features and sync do require connectivity, but you can continue writing at any time—perfect for traveling or spotty connections.
- How many projects can I open simultaneously?
- Currently, we limit you to 20 open projects. The app’s multi-window support means you can open multiple manuscripts or reference documents side by side. Your system’s memory is the only constraint.
- Are my files automatically synced with the cloud version?
- Yes. When you’re online, the Desktop App can sync changes to your Bookcicle account. This ensures your data is backed up and accessible from any device. You control which projects sync automatically vs. remain offline-only.
- Can I customize the interface?
- Absolutely. We offer various themes, backgrounds, and editor styles. Choose from radial gradients, patterns, or minimal designs to suit your writing environment.
- Does the desktop version include AI features like Ghostwriting, Editorial, and more?
- Yes, the app integrates all of Bookcicle’s AI services—ghostwriting, editorial suggestions, literary convert, translation, etc. Offline usage still requires reconnection for final AI processing, but you can queue tasks and run them whenever you're online.
Disclaimer: While offline writing is fully supported, AI features depend on an internet connection to access our cloud-based models. Local editing and data remain on your device until synced, so please enable sync regularly for backups.
Usage Limitations: The Desktop App is licensed for individual use. Multi-user or organizational licensing requires separate agreements. We rely on third-party AI providers; usage fees may apply if you exceed monthly AI generation limits (see plan details).
Lifetime License Disclaimers: The Lifetime License grants indefinite access to Bookcicle’s premium plan feature suite, including software updates and patches. However, AI usage remains metered and is billed separately. Lifetime licenses are offered in limited quantities and once purchased, no refunds are provided. Please review our AI usage fees before proceeding with a Lifetime License purchase.
AI Billing Disclaimer: Unless you hold an Ultimate AI subscription, all AI usage is billed separately on a metered basis. This means you’ll be charged according to the actual amount of AI processing (words generated, edits made, etc.). If you exceed any monthly AI credit allowance, additional usage fees may apply.
